Charge pressed against a resident of Yerevan for voting instead of another person in polling station N 10/14
In the framework of the criminal case investigated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee the person who had voted instead of another person in polling station N 10/14 was identified.
On December 6, 2015 in the news site “newsbook” there was a publication entitled “Breach in polling station N 10/14; a signature before elderly woman’s name”.
Through investigation conducted on the base of the report it was found that the voter of the polling station N 10/14 Zhenya Ghasaboghlyan attended the polling station and found that in the voter list there was a signature of another person before her name.
A criminal case was initiated according to the Article 153 of RA Criminal Code.
It was found that the voter of polling station N 10/14 Zhenya Ghasaboghlyan attended the polling station and found that there was another person’s signature before her name in the voter list.
A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Kentron and Norq Marash administrative districts according to the Article 153 of RA Criminal Code. Necessary investigatory and procedural actions were taken to provide the comprehensive, objective and complete investigation of the circumstances of the case, to identify the person having committed the apparent crime.
Through inspection of voting register it was found that the passport data of the resident of Yerevan M. Rshtuni had been written before Zh. GHasaboghlyan’s name. According to data of preliminary investigation on December 6, 2015 the latter went to polling station N 10/14, presented his passport, signed before the name of another voter in the voter list thus voting instead of another person.
On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against M. Rshtuni according to the Article 153 of RA Criminal Code.
The criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to the prosecutor supervising the legality of preliminary investigation.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
