In the framework of the criminal case investigated in Lori Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee necessary investigatory actions are conducted to provide the comprehensive, objective and complete investigation of Tigran Martirosyan’s murder, to find the motive.

Through criminal case sufficient actual data were obtained on the allegation that the victim had sustained the bodily injuries incompatible with life during the argument with his wife.

Taking the public interest into consideration we inform that pursuant to initial data the wife had regularly been subjected to violence by the husband, the mentioned argument started on late evening of May 24, 2017. Tigran Martirosyan, being drunk, threw several items towards his wife during the argument in their house then pursued her with a rifle, held the charged rifle to his wife’s head and threatened to kill her after which the wife pushed him, took the rifle from his hand and fired towards him. The husband died of the bodily injuries he had sustained.

On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against wife according to the Article 108 of RA Criminal Code – murder by exceeding necessary defense and a decision was made to release her from custody. Signature not to leave was chosen as a pretrial measure against her.  

At the same time, considering the data of the criminal case the investigator made a decision to use protection measures against the wife and her flat provision of which was tasked to the relevant subdivisions of the police.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
