Investigation is conducted in the First Investigative Division of Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to disclose the murder attempt committed in Moskovyan Street with a weapon procured illegally.

Pursuant to initial data, on March 8, 2022 at about 02:10 a call was received from a medical center informing that 49 year-old resident of Yerevan with a diagnosis of “firearm injuries on different parts of the body” was taken to the medical center.

In the result of urgent measures data were obtained on the allegation that on March 7, 2022 at about 23:40 in the yard of one of the houses on Moskovyan Street, Yerevan, with the intent to deprive 49 year-old man of life, the person having committed the alleged crime fired shots towards the man from a firearm kept by him illegally and fled. However, under unforeseen circumstances he could not complete the crime as the injured was shown necessary medical aid.

A criminal case was initiated according to the Part 1 of the Article 34-104 and the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code.

During preliminary investigation investigative and other procedural actions were conducted – inspection of the scene during which blood-like traces as well as 6 fired capsules were found, a number of forensic examinations were commissioned, witnesses were questioned.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Investigative actions are conducted, operative-intelligence measures are taken to find out all circumstances, to provide the objective and comprehensive investigation of the case, to identify the person having committed the alleged crime, to find and bring him to the investigative body, to verify the circumstances mentioned in testimonies.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
