On June 5, 2021 a call was received from a citizen informing that there was a man’s body in one of the houses of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan. The investigative-operative group immediately left for the scene and found a body of a man, born in 1966, with cut-pierced wound on the chest.

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Shengavit administrative district of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 104 of RA Criminal Code.

In the result of urgent measures a number of circumstances of the case, among them the motive were found out, the person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is the nephew of the victim.

Pursuant to initial data, on June 4, 2021 at about 20:30 an argument on domestic matters took place between the resident of Shengavit administrative district born in 1966 and his nephew living in the same house. During the argument the man scolded and tried to hit his nephew with a wood after which the latter punched his uncle on the face then stabbed him on the chest. After the incident the man went home and the next day on June 5 at about 15:30 the latter’s sister found him dead.

Hours later the victim’s nephew was arrested on suspicion of committing murder. The latter presented the knife which was the instrument of crime.

During preliminary investigation necessary investigative and other procedural actions were conducted – a number of people were questioned, inspection of the scene was conducted, forensic medical examination of the body was commissioned.

Measures are taken to find out all circumstances of the case, to verify circumstances mentioned in testimonies, to provide the comprehensive and objective investigation of the case.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
