Preliminary investigation of the criminal case initiated on hindrance to legal professional activity of journalist of “Azatutyun” radio station Arus Hakobyan was completed in Ararat Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee, charge was pressed against the director of Water Management Company.

Through preliminary investigation actual data were obtained on the allegation that on April 21, 2018 at about 15:00 professional activity of journalist of “Azatutyun” radio station Arus Hakobyan was hindered while covering the protest action on the road of Artashat town. In the result of necessary measures it was found out that on the day of the incident while filming and covering the protest action on the road of Artashat town the resident of Ararat region, born in 1982, who is the director of Water Management Company, used violence against the journalist, that is hit the camera then on her face with a hand.

On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against the director of the company A. Ghazaryan according to the Part 1 of the Article 164 of RA Criminal Code. The latter accepted the charge.

The criminal case with the bill of indictment was sent to the prosecutor supervising the legality of preliminary investigation.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
