Through investigation conducted in the Investigative Division of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee significant circumstances of banditry committed by two minors against a foreigner were found out.

On March 2, 2023 the RF citizen submitted a report in Erebuni Police Division informing that on the same day at about 17:35 in front of the lift of the entrance of a house located in M.Khorenatsi Street, Yerevan 2 persons at knifepoint stole her mobile phone of “iPhone” model and handbag in which there were bank cards, a card of right to work in the RA and significant pecuniary damage was caused to her.

A criminal proceeding was initiated according to the Points 3 and 5 of the Part 2 of the Article 252 of RA Criminal Code.

The person who had submitted the report was found the victim. Inspection of the scene was conducted with her participation.

Investigative assignment was given to Erebuni Police Division to take necessary operative-intelligence measures.

In the result of urgent measures two young men – residents of Yerevan and Ararat, born in December, 2005 and February, 2006 were arrested on the base of reasonable suspicion of crime committal.

Through search of one of them a knife and the mentioned mobile phone were found.

One of the young men gave self-incriminating testimony describing the actions committed by them.

Forensic medical, forensic merchandising expertise were commissioned.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
