Banditry on New Year’s Eve; the suspect arrested
A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Malatia-Sebastia administrative district of the RA Investigative Committee on assault committed against a woman. The suspect was arrested.
On January 7, 2016 a report was received from A. Mkrtchyan informing that on December 28, 2015 at about 17:00 she was assaulted at her home.
According to the woman’s report her acquaintance A. Muradyan with his friend Davit visited her in her flat, tied her hands, feet and mouth with sticky tape then stabbed at her legs with a kitchen knife that was with them, demanded money and golden jewelry at a knife point. Davit found A. Mkrtchyan’s purse, they stole it and left.
By the materials prepared on the base of the report a criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Malatia-Sebastia administrative district of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Point 4 of the Part 2 of the Article 175 of RA Criminal Code.
A. Mkrtchyan was found an injured party.
On January 8, 2016 A. Muradyan was arrested on suspicion of committing banditry.
Preliminary investigation is ongoing. Necessary investigatory actions are conducted to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation of the case.
Forensic medical and forensic biological examinations were appointed to find circumstances significant for the case, the relevant subdivisions of the Police were tasked to take necessary measures to identify Davit, to find and bring him to the investigative body.
Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
