In the result of investigatory and operative-searching measures taken in the framework of the criminal case investigated in Shirak Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee circumstances of inflicting heavy bodily damage to 23 year-old young man in one of the disco clubs in Gyumri are found.

On December 1, 2017 a call was received from medical center informing that the resident of Gyumri, born in 1994, with diagnosis of “pierced open injury on the head, fracture of skull bones” was taken to medical center.

A criminal case was initiated in Shirak Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code.

In the result of measures taken in the framework of the criminal case it was found that the young man had sustained the bodily injury during an argument that took place in one of the disco clubs operating in Gyumri. Pursuant to preliminary investigation data, on the day of the incident a group of young men argued in the club during which bodily injuries were inflicted to 23 year-old young man hitting him with an empty beer bottle on the head. The person having committed the alleged crime was identified; he is also a resident of Gyumri, born in 1996.

On the base of the obtained evidence on December 4 charge was pressed against 21 year-old young man according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 and the Part 4 of the Article 258 of RA Criminal Code, detention was chosen as a pretrial measure against him.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing, measures are taken to find the frame of those involved, to personalize the actions of each of them and to provide the comprehensive, complete and objective investigation.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
