Charge Pressed against 33 Year-Old Man for Stabbing Fellow Villager

In the result of measures taken within the criminal case investigated in Vayots Dzor Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee a number of circumstances of inflicting heavy bodily damage to the resident of Zaritap village of Vayots Dzor province were found out. On the base of the obtained evidence charge was pressed against the latter's fellow villager.

Pursuant to initial data, on January 25, 2019 during the argument in the night club operating on Yerevan-Meghri road the resident of Zaritap village, born in 1986, stabbed his fellow villager, born in 1996, with a cutting-piercing item causing heavy bodily injury.

On January 25, 2019 a criminal case was initiated in Vayq division of the RA Police according to the Part 1 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code which was sent to Vayots Dzor Regional Investigative Department and was received in the proceeding. An investigatory group was formed. 23 year-old resident of Zaritap was found the injured party.

In the result of investigatory and other procedural actions conducted within the criminal case it was found out that on January 25, 2019 at about 03:30 in the night club operating on Yerevan-Meghri road 33 year-old resident of Zaritap village of Vayots Dzor province, being under the influence of alcohol, ignoring the employee's warning that it was time to close the club, started to argue with the barman about ordering music during which he threw a beer bottle towards him and scolded. Then 33 year-old man's fellow villager tried to prevent his hooligan actions but the latter started to argue also with 23 year-old fellow villager during which he stabbed the latter three times with a folding knife causing heavy damage threatening to life.

On the base of the obtained sufficient evidence charge was pressed against 33 year-old man according to the Point 9 of the Part 2 of the Article 112 of RA Criminal Code. The investigator submitted a motion to court to use detention as a pretrial measure against him. It was sufficed.  

Forensic chemical, forensic medical and forensic biological examinations were commissioned to find out a number of circumstances significant for the criminal case. Instructions were given to the relevant subdivision of the police.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.

Note; Everyone charged with alleged crime offence shall be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law.
