Investigation is conducted in the Investigative Division of Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee to find the circumstances of the explosion in Davtashen which caused a human death.

Pursuant to initial data on the evening of August 2, 2017 an explosion took place in the yard of one of the houses of Davtashen district of Yerevan. As a result, the residents of Yerevan A. Yepremyan, born in 1997, and N. Yepremyan, born in 1985, with bodily injuries were taken to medical center. The latter died in medical center.

A criminal case was initiated in the Investigative Division of Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative districts of Yerevan Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee according to the Part 1 of the Article 235 of RA Criminal Code.

Inspection of the site was conducted during which an artillery shell of 620 mm length 120 mm caliber, one more shell divided into two parts, electric appliance wire with copper splinters were found.

Samples were taken. Forensic medical, forensic ballistic–trace examinations were commissioned to find a number of circumstances significant for the criminal case.

Preliminary investigation is ongoing.
